Meaningful Impact in Action - Iowa Wolves Sensory Friendly Night - Sharing Hope, One Story at a Time - Advocacy Day on the Hill

Meaningful Impact in Action

We are incredibly grateful to the Knights of Columbus (Altoona) for their continued annual support of our organization. Their generosity makes a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve, and we are especially thankful for their recent $2,250 gift. Pictured above is Steph Murphy, Assistant Regional Director of Altoona, Clive and Metro West, accepting this generous gift on behalf of Balance Autism.

The above picture is some of our Altoona team with the impact of their gift last year. We were able to purchase toys, sensory items, and programming supplies for children attending our Altoona clinic.

Iowa Wolves Sensory Friendly Night

The Iowa Wolves Basketball has invited Balance Autism and our families, clients and friends to their For All Night on February 7, 2026. This an exciting evening of inclusive family fun.

The Wolves will be providing a special sensory-friendly environment, which includes reduced PA volume, limited light flashing, and lowered music levels as they strive to create an enjoyable experience for everyone who loves basketball.

In partnership with the Balance Autism, they are offering a special ticket rate to enjoy the evening. Check it out!

Sharing Hope, One Story at a Time

April is World Autism Acceptance Month… a time to honor the journeys, strengths, challenges, and growth of the autism community. Since we celebrate autism EVERY day at Balance Autism, we choose to focus more on the connection, understanding, and instilling hope while the rest of the world is listening.

Every family’s story is different, but each one matters. Your experiences — the early questions, the small victories, the hard days, the moments of joy — have the power to remind other families that they are not alone. Sometimes, hearing one story at the right moment can bring comfort, encouragement, or the courage to keep going.

Throughout April, we’d love to highlight real stories from our families. If you’re interested in sharing a piece of your journey — whether it’s a reflection, a lesson learned, or a message of hope — please reach out to our Marketing Director. Stories can be shared in whatever way feels comfortable to you, and we’ll work with you every step of the way.

By sharing your story, you may inspire another parent who’s just beginning their journey, remind someone how far they’ve come, or help build a more accepting and compassionate world for autistic individuals everywhere.

Tell my story!
