Advocacy Day on the Hill Recap
What an incredible morning at the Iowa State Capitol for the 16th Annual Autism Advocacy and Acceptance Day on the Hill!
Balance Autism was proud to stand alongside the Autism Society of Iowa, fellow resource partners, and—most importantly—the families and self-advocates who make our community so strong.
We kicked off our day by hearing powerful firsthand stories from the community and loved getting to connect with new families at our resource table in between sessions.
A huge THANK YOU to everyone who joined us and shared their stories!

Recognizing Business Partnerships
Furnishing each Balance Autism home is a meaningful investment in creating safe, comfortable, and welcoming spaces for the individuals we support. We are deeply grateful to our valued furniture partner, Homemakers Furniture, for their continued collaboration as we furnish every new home.
Their generosity and commitment to our mission allow us to stretch our resources while still selecting high-quality pieces that truly help each house feel like home. We appreciate Homemakers’ ongoing partnership and shared dedication to the families and individuals we serve. If you’re in the market for new furniture, we encourage you to give them a look!

Iowa Wolves Sensory Friendly Night
The Iowa Wolves Basketball has invited Balance Autism and our families, clients and friends to their For All Night on February 7, 2026. This an exciting evening of inclusive family fun.
The Wolves will be providing a special sensory-friendly environment, which includes reduced PA volume, limited light flashing, and lowered music levels as they strive to create an enjoyable experience for everyone who loves basketball.
In partnership with the Balance Autism, they are offering a special ticket rate to enjoy the evening. Check it out!

Sharing Hope, One Story at a Time
April is World Autism Acceptance Month. While we celebrate autism every day at Balance Autism, this month gives us an opportunity to share connection, understanding, and hope.
Every family’s journey is different, and every story matters. Your experiences can remind other families that they’re not alone.
Throughout April, we’d love to highlight stories from our families. If you’re interested in sharing a reflection, lesson learned, or message of hope, please reach out to our Marketing Director.
