At Balance Autism, the safety and well-being of the children, families, and communities we serve remain a top priority. As summer activities increase, we encourage families to keep a few important seasonal safety tips in mind!

Helpful Resources:

The CDC, American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) all offer valuable summer safety information for families.

We hope your family enjoys a safe, healthy, and fun-filled summer season!

Trek the Park

Get ready to kick off the NINTH annual Central Iowa Trek the Parks Challenge! Balance Autism sponsored the 2025 Trek the Park Challenge and had a blast, so we will be joining the fun again in 2026

Trek the Park is kicking things off at the beautiful Brenton Arboretum and you are invited to join the fun! No registration required.

Here’s what’s happening:

>> FREE popsicle (while supplies last)

>> Burn Boot Camp Waukee with fun movement for the kids.

>> Explore a hands-on activity with The Brenton Arboretum team.

>> Get creative and messy with Muddy Boots Forest Camp!

>> Play on spin chairs + sensory tiles with Balance Autism

>> Hands on animal fun with Mini Dreams Ranch

>> Fun activities with PBS Kids

>> Sign up for the 2026 Trek the Parks Challenge and cross off your very first park of the season!
